For a first time visitor to Bangkok’s crazy sex districts, deciding where to go and most importantly where to stay can be quite a daunting task. Bangkok is as foreign and unknown as it gets especially when you want to check out the go go bars and perhaps take a bar girl back to your room. Here you’ll find simple and concise information on what to do, where to go and where to stay.
To enjoy Bangkok’s sex districts I always suggest first timers to stay near or in a hotel close to one. When I mean near I’m referring to walking distance. Too many make the mistake of staying too far, like in Khao San road just to save some money. There are plenty of affordable hotels near the sex districts, so there’s no need to stay too far away.
There are 3 primary sex districts in Bangkok; 1. Patpong 2. Nana. 3. Soi Cowboy
All 3 are in the center of Bangkok and connected by the BTS Sky Train, an elevated train system that runs above the busy traffic jammed streets of Bangkok. Nana and Soi Cowboy are closest to each other while Patpong requires a 15 minute BTS ride to get there.
A wise choice would be to stay in a bar girl friendly hotel near or between the sex districts of Nana and Soi Cowboy.
What is a bar girl friendly hotel exactly? It’s simply a hotel that doesn’t charge you a fee for taking a bar girl back to your room. Many bar girl friendly hotels are in the 5 star hotel range. Many are also leisure and business hotels that are affordable. But most importantly they’re clean.
In a nutshell whenever you go to a go go bar there’s a good chance you’re going to take a bar girl back to your room. Before you can do so you first have to negotiate how much the lady will charge you for “long time” or overnight. The going rate is 3000 Baht or more, depending on your negotiation skills, the way you look and even how tired the bar girl is. She’ll usually leave you around 8am or later if she fancies you.
Before you can even leave the bar with lady in hand you have to pay a 500 Baht bar fine to the establishment. This is non-negotiable.
So as you can see now why it’s important to stay in a hotel that is bar girl friendly. You don’t want to have to pay another 500 Baht unnecessarily. Many bar girl friendly hotels are within walking distance to go go bars and sex districts such as the Majestic Grande, the Landmark Hotel, Grand President and so much more.
It’s important to book these hotels a few weeks in advance and your bar girl must leave her Thai I.D. card with security. This is only for your safety.
